Sophisticated Golfer, A WP Website
Objective:
SophisticatedGolfer.com has been in business for over 15 years as a travel golf agency. Despite having an outdated site, they still had a strong client base because of superior customer service. In order to grow and reach more clients, Sophisticated Golfer needed to modernize the website.
The original website had no call-to-action(s), unresponsive website, small images, small text, repeatable content, poor information architecture such as duplicate pages and content, and no contact form – the request a quote and contact were the same form. Not good.
Solution:
First off, I reviewed and redesigned the information architecture and navigation, which was one of the biggest issues of all. Next, I focused on building the brand outside of the logo with a new, defined color palette. After, I sketched the designs on paper before creating the digital visuals in Sketch App. All designs were then exported to InvisionApp where the prototype was built.
Sophisticated Golfer reviewed the designs and provided feedback. I made the changes as requested and got them approved before development (front-end and back-end) started. While development was in process, I created the video loop in the Home page banner. The video was placed to make a visual connection with the audience, showing what a golf vacation with Sophisticated Golfer would be.
Once back-end development was finished, the remaining plugins were added, such as Yoast SEO plugin and Google Analytics Counter Tracker, before transferring the site and content to the live server. Once the migration, quality analysis and all old search engine pages were redirected to the new site, I trained Sophisticated Golfer on WordPress so they could update their site's content (images and text).
The finished product resolved all of the previous issues with a better user experience. Overall, the project took 2 months to complete. Sophisticated Golfer is extremely pleased with the outcome.
